What to do If your child is going to be absent:

1. Call the Middle School Attendance Office at 353-7205 each morning of the absence between 7:25 a.m. and 7:55 a.m. 2. Absences must be called in within 48 hours, or an absence note must be brought in within 48 hours, for the absence to be considered an excused absence.

If a student is going to be absent for two or more days, have the Guidance Department arrange to gather homework assignments. Parents may pick these homework packets up after 2:50 PM, or they may be sent home with a friend. In case of a one-day absence, the student should contact a friend with the same schedule to get the assignments.

We recognize that regular school attendance is a major component of academic success. Students arriving late miss valuable instructional time, and disrupt the instruction of others. Therefore, students are expected to arrive at the Middle School each morning no later than 8:04 a.m.

Unexcused tardiness can result in disciplinary action such as detention or in-school suspension. Students may also be denied the privilege of participating in or attending extracurricular events.
